Thinking about selling your shared ownership home?

We know that circumstances change - your family may be growing, or you may have to relocate for work. As a shared owner, you can sell the equity in your home at any time and our Resales team are on hand to help you through the process.

The Building Safety Act

If you own a home in a block of flats, you might be finding it difficult to sell, staircase (buy an additional percentage of the equity of your home) or remortgage your property, due to changes in guidance and legislation.

The Building Safety Act requires that as part of the sale, remortgage or staircasing of a home in any building that has five or more storeys or is 11 metres or more in height, you’ll need to provide us with a Leaseholder Deed of Certificate. We'll then issue you with a Landlord's Certificate.

You should then send both of these certificates to your solicitor and mortgage lender,

otherwise the transaction won’t be able to progress. Further information on the certificates is available on the Government website.

Homeowners' Panel

Our Homeowners’ Panel is a formal group of customer volunteers who work in partnership with us to help shape and improve the services we provide to homeowners. Members share their perspective, give feedback and suggest improvements we can make to our services.

Some of the panel members are also members of Customer Voice connecting the Homeowners’ Panel to our formal resident board.

Apply for an electric vehicle charging point

Electric vehicle charge point (EVCP) applications have previously been processed the same way as all other home alterations. However, following a full review and listening to customer feedback, we’re pleased to announce that we’re improving our approach.

From 1 January 2026, you’ll be able to check if you’re eligible and complete a specific EVCP charger application via our website. Our energy team will then review and contact you within 10 days.

Shared ownership code launched to improve customer satisfaction

The Shared Ownership Council recently launched its Shared Ownership Code, to create a more standardised product across the sector. The aim is to improve customer satisfaction and drive private investment.

We’ve engaged with the Council throughout the development of the code, sharing advice, feedback and best practice.
